Board President Brian Wynn is a Financial Professional with Thrivent Financial. In this role Brian is increasingly active with clients, churches and organizations in the Rockford area. Thrivent promotes living generously, and Brian feels a strong commitment to helping organizations make a positive impact on the people around them. He currently is active in both the DeKalb and Rochelle Chambers of Commerce, is a member of Ogle County Pheasants Forever and is a leader of The Lord and Leaf Bible Study. Brian and his wife and children attend New Hope Fellowship in Rochelle, near their residence in Chana, IL.

Board Vice President/Treasurer Brent Scott was born and raised in Rockford, IL. After graduating from Rockford Lutheran High School he attended the University of Missouri – Columbia. Upon graduating, he desired to return to his hometown to begin a career in commercial banking. After accumulating 20 years of commercial banking experience with JP Morgan Chase and predecessors, Brent joined Wintrust Commercial Banking in 2018 to assist in growing its Middle Market/Commercial banking presence in Northern Illinois. Outside of Wintrust, Brent has served on not-for-profit boards and finance committees that include Rockford MELD, YMCA of Rock River Valley, Next Rockford, Rockford Lutheran High School / Foundation, Immanuel Lutheran Church of Belvidere Endowment Committee and also coached junior tackle football for 3+ seasons.

Board Secretary/Director of Technology Steve Kennedy has been involved in both Ministry and Technology for over 25 years. After graduating from Moody Bible Institute he served as a Youth Pastor in Muskegon, MI. Following that he founded The Master's Computer Consulting and provided IT support for many small to mid-sized businesses throughout the northern Illinois area. During that time Steve began administering the network for Carpenter's Place in Rockford, IL. It was through this association that he became involved in writing what would become MPOWR a SupplyCore Solution. He led the development, support and implementation of MPOWR as a software package through its formative years. Likewise, his passion for ministry has also been an ongoing part of his life as he has served as Technical Arts director at Community Bible Church in Rockford and was involved in the founding of Harvesting Hope a ministry to provide farming resources in Pignon, Haiti. He also organized and participated in a Coast to Coast bicycle trip (Santa Monica to Boston) to raise funds for Harvesting Hope. Most recently, in addition to Steve's work with One Body Collaboratives, he has also been serving as Chief Technology Officer for InsightFormation Inc.

Board Member at Large Anisha Grimmett is the Owner of A New Look By Nisha. Her prior experience leading teams, solving problems, planning projects, developing and refining processes, and applying the tools of continuous improvement prepared her to lead the structured approach used to create collective impact by Alignment Rockford. Anisha says her greatest joy is connecting businesses to their greatest asset, our youth. Anisha has served on the boards of Discovery Center, Keith Country Day School, Rockford University, Zion Development and Jackson Charter School, she is also a member of Rotary Club of Rockford.

Board Member at Large Trisha Tousant is the Chief Operations Officer at the YMCA of Rock River Valley. She oversees the operations of the Y’s three membership branches, YMCA Children’s Learning Center and YMCA Camp Winnebago. Additionally, she provides oversight for YMCA Kids’ Time, which serves more than 1,000 students in before and after school care throughout Rockford Public Schools, Harlem School District and Pecatonica. Trisha volunteers her time with several local organizations including United Way of Rock River Valley on the Middle School Success Task Force, Alignment Rockford providing Academy support, Rockford Regional Health Council focused on youth obesity prevention and is on the Bridges Out of Poverty Community of Practice of One Body Collaboratives.

Board Member at Large Pastor Alvin M. White has a diverse background both in corporate America and ministry. His corporate experience ranges over a 20 plus year span in human resources, upper management sales, executive management, developing processes and refining processes and leadership development. He and his wife, LaToya are business owners of M & J enterprises, business and personal consultants and support.  Alvin's ministry background ranges over 20 plus years of ministry experience. He has served in member care, as youth pastor, as associate pastor, as assistant pastor, to currently a senior pastor. He serves the Rockford IL community by sitting on several boards, giving back through community give aways, and volunteering at community centers.

Advisory Team Members
Co-Founder, Director Emeritus Allan Barsema, a former Senior Research Associate for Faith Based & Community Initiatives with Northern Illinois University Center for Governmental Studies, has more than 35 years of leadership and management experience in nonprofit and for-profit organizations. As a social entrepreneur Allan has successfully brought together multiple governmental, social services, faith-based, business, educational, and private entities. Mr. Barsema is the Founder of two nationally recognized nonprofit organizations instrumental in the fight against homelessness and poverty: The Carpenter's Place (www.carpentersplace.org), and MPOWR, a collaborative case management software (www.MPOWR.org). In both of these organizations Mr. Barsema was responsible for all aspects of organizational development and operation from initial vision to full implementation. He was also a founding board member of the Illinois Association for Criminal Justice (www.illinoiscriminaljustice.org). Allan’s passion to help others rebuild their lives stems from his personal experience and success overcoming addictions and homelessness. Allan continues to apply his extensive experience developing and implementing innovative models for the effective delivery of human services. Allan’s work has been awarded the 2010 Harvard University, ASH Center, Innovation in American Government ‘Bright Idea’ award; the 2010 Civic Ventures ‘Purpose Prize’ award; as well as the 2011 Covenant Denomination 'Compassion, Mercy, & Justice’ Award.

Co-Founder, Director Emeritus Louis (Lou) Setter has served in numerous capacities including Vice President of Logistics with Fortune 500 Saks, Inc, Carson Pirie Scott and the Bon-Ton Stores. During his tenure he led teams responsible for movement of merchandise on a global and multiple level basis. His expertise includes start up of web-based warehouse delivery systems that moves merchandise from the point of manufacture to delivery to a customer’s home. His involvement on multi-industry task forces during the development of the universal product bar code and the universal packaging standards are the bedrock used in product identification within the logistics systems used internationally today. Louis has negotiated on labor disputes as well as larger business contracts in building, engineering and transportation arenas. He also founded the first employee credit union for the benefit of the workers. His background is one of collaborating common goals with partnerships in the manufacturing, warehousing, transportation, retail and the individual customer as a measurement of success. Louis committed his life to Christ at a young age and has followed Matt 25:35-46 in his desire to serve Christ. As a member of First Covenant, Rockford, he has served on the church leadership team over several decades. He has traveled to Mexico, West Bank, India and the Ukraine as part of the short term missionary teams commissioned by the church. Locally, he has been involved in outreach to the neighborhood by initiating a Park ministry, men's bible studies as well as church events to serve the needy. Louis has served in leadership positions in para-church organizations such as Carpenters Place and Youth for Christ. Louis was 2014 recipient of the Evangelical Covenant Church Theodore W. Anderson Award.

Legal Advisor Aaron Brooks is a member of the law firm of Holmstrom & Kennedy and works in the Corporate & Business Group. His practice area focuses on technology-based... transactions and licensing, trademarks, copyrights and privacy law. Through the years, Aaron has negotiated and closed substantial and complex transactions, counseled executive management for technology-based companies and information systems departments, and managed all aspects of HIPAA privacy and security compliance for several medical facilities, including a major metropolitan hospital. He frequently delivers or participates in seminars on these topics and has written several articles as well.
